What is the use and benefits of Vallarai?

Vallarai protects brain cells and rejuvenates them. It helps to improve memory and concentration span. Vallarai has calming effect on brain during mental stress and anxiety and found to be useful in the treatment of Insomnia, depression and Alzheimer's disease.

It is used as a culinary vegetable and as a medicinal herb. Brahmi is a therapeutic herb commonly used as a memory enhancer, aphrodisiac and a health tonic.  Brahmi is full of antioxidants that are essential for living a healthy life. Brahma can be a great remedy that provides relief from arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. It also helps in soothing gastric ulcers and treating an irritable bowel syndrome.

What are the English and other names for Vallarai?

Centella asiatica, commonly known as Centella, Asiatic Pennywort, Brahmi, Mandukaparn, Brahmamanduki, Indian Pennywort, Khulakudi, Tholkuri, Muttil, Karbrahmi, Tsubokura or Gotu kola, is an herbaceous, frost-tender perennial plant in the flowering plant family Apiaceae.

How do you use Vallarai powder?

Adults can mix one tea spoon of Vallarai powder in a glass of water and drink.  1/2 spoon of Vallarai powder can be mixed with milk and given to children, as advised by Doctor.
